Cape Verde is an archipelago with an extraordinary development path and economic growth.
In 1975, the islands achieved independence, and since 1991 politics of Cape Verde takes place in a framework of a stable parliamentary representative democratic republic where there's no ethnic groups and the predominance of christian/catholic religion makes any social conflict also inexistent.
Despite the lack of resources the country’s economy has grown since the late 1990's because of recent progress and because of its strategic importance, which makes it easier to imports and exports and to a permanent tourist flow. Now it is considered a country of average development and also as a highly secure and trustworthy state highlighted by it’s political, economic and exchange rate stability. Cape Verde has significant cooperation with Portugal at every level of the economy, leading it to link its currency (escudo Caboverdiano) first to the Portuguese escudo, and, in 1999, to the euro (€ 1= 110,265 ECV).
The national legislation is supportive of foreign investment whereas it assures a whole lot of benefits beside considering some principles such as non discrimination and just and equal treatment. Foreign investors also benefits from the absence of fiscal crossing datas with foreign countries.
